First off I'd just like to say thank you for reading this, I'm in the grieving process and I'm a little scatterbrained. Well I lost my 11 year old quaker yesterday afternoon. She was doing great no problems whatsoever since my last post 3 months ago about my cat and her having at it. I was playing with her Monday night and she seemed fine I put her to bed and then yesterday I took the covers off her cage and she was still in the same spot so I took her out and she started seizuring flapping her wings and squaking with her head bent all the way back. I handed her to my boyfriend and frantically started calling the animal hospital and my work. By the time we were ready to go I heard my boyfriend cry out, she died in his hands. We buried her near the lake at my apartment complex, my boyfriend even put some of her favorite toys in the box with her. I even painted a headstone for her. I'm just so sad and angry, shes been with me since I was 12 years old. I hand fed her from 8 weeks old. We've been through thick and thin and now shes gone and I cant seem to stop crying. I wish there had been something I could have done. My friends mom (who is a breeder) thinks it was a stroke. I don't know I'm just trying to cope now. I tried going to work today but I didn't last long just picking something up makes me cry. I just hope that in time the tears will dry. I have this tattoo of a green and blue bird on my shoulder that's were she will always be sitting on my shoulder hissing in my ear.

i'm SO sorry! think about the wonderful 11 years you had with Milo. i'm sure that's how she would want to be remembered. do you have any pictures of her you'd like to share?

I can't image how you must be feeling. Milo was lucky to have you and maybe just knowing you gave her a good home with lots of love will help heal your pain in time. I often think of how blessed I am to have each day with my baby's and I know something can happen in the blink of an eye so everyday I remember just how good I have it. For I am not promised tomorro. I am so very sorry to read of your loss of little Milo. I know your pain first hand. I lost my beloved Gurk 10 months ago. I have never felt pain this/that bad in all of my life. I am still where you are. I pick up a feather, toy, or picture of him and cry terrible. I cry myself to sleep every night still. This is going to be a long process for you. But just know that we are all here if you need to talk. I will be here any time you would like to vent or ask questions or just talk. Just pm anytime. Also as many have said, just try to take comfort in knowing that Milo had a great life with you and you with Milo. And that Milo knew how you felt about her. I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I had a bird die in my hands many many years ago, when I was a young teen. I remember how devestating it was, even though we'd only had him/her for a week. Therefore I can only begin to imagin what you're going through, after 11 years. Again, I'm very sorry for your loss.

I wanted to say, I am so sorry for the loss of your special friend. I know too well, the pain it has brought to your life, as my Corkey, just died a week ago.
I have no words of encouragement, as the pain is so strong, I do not think words can help, but please know, there are some of us out here, who really do understand.

Hi everyone well its been one month since I lost milo, Its harder and easier then I thought it would be. Ive focused a lot of my time on working with my recently adopted qp Jade and its funny but the little bugger has really helped me cope. It was hard at first because id start playing with him and i would try playing with him like I would milo and I would get really upset because he isnt milo. But now I have different games to play with him and he has really come along way. I guess all he needed was time and attention and hes getting alot of that now. Im also looking into either buying a baby quaker that I can hand feed(my boyfriend and I already came up with the name emerald, emmy for short) or adopting/rehomeing a larger parrot. So wish me luck with that whole mess I cant believe there are so many people just looking to get some money back after wasting it on a bird and realizing they cant handle it. Anyway I know a couple of you asked for pics so now that ive got my computer working here they are. These were taken about 4 months ago right after I brought home Jade. Thanks for everyones supportive words and just for listening. I really appreciate it.
