I live in Oklahoma City and am willing to adopt someone's quaker who can longer take care of them. I will give them a lifelong home and loving care. I have two conure's already a sun and a green cheeked. The sun conure I have had going on 4 years now since she was weaned. I have a green quaker that I am currently looking for as he got out in november, I will never give up looking for him I miss him so much and my heart is broken. I look for him constantly. I have been thinking about getting a weaned quaker in a few months but I would be willing and have the patience to adopt a quaker and give someone the peace of mind that it will be well taken care of. I adopted the green cheeked conure and it is doing fabulously, I wouldnt of found him if I hadnt been looking for my other quaker. But I can't go too far from OKC for a pick up but let me know if anyone needs to rehome. I have experience taking care of all kinds of animals from horses to fish to birds and dog, chickens and everything inbetween but right now I have a dog, birds and fish.

My missing quaker came home on March 2, 2009 so now my heart is whole again. I probably won't be getting any more birds as I probably have enough to care for that I am comfortable with. I give them everything they need and lots of love.

A man called me after he read my ad on Craig's list for my area, I had been putting the ad on there every week since he left because there would be so many lost pets it would get buried, anyway the man was out golfing and my bird came and landed on his shoulder flew back into a tree then came back down and landed again so the man thought it was someon's pet and took him with him. He had to stop he said at a pet store to see what kind he was then he got some food for him and took him home with him, then he looked on the net and found my ad on Craig's list and called me. I agreed to meet him in a public restaurant as I didnt know if this was another hoax or not. But he had him in a small cat carrier and I had brought my own and put him in my van so I could transfer him. I knew as soon as I saw him and he stepped up on my hand that he was my bird. He was sort of weak but now he is doing well, eating everything I give him and glad to be back in his home cage. He is talking more now and saying his name. He fluffs up when I sing him his favorite song and he loves to bath in the sink. He came home March 2, 2009. Now my heart is whole again, I literally thought I was going to die of a broken heart. So here are some pictures of him I have taken recently.

I am soooo happy for you and the your baby!!! I bet his little heart was thumping so fast to see you again. And, thank God to the gentleman who was nice enough to take someone's pet in and try to take care of it till it could return it to its rightful owner! There are earth angels out there that we meet all the time.
I hope you and you FID are getting plenty of bonding time to make up for the last couple of months!

I've been spending as much time as I can with my baby and my other fids but since he was my first one a few years back he is kind of my favorite. We have a real bond with each other. He stays on my shoulder most of the time these few weeks unless I'm in my easy chair then he takes his position on the arm so he can see whats going on all around him. He only got down to get on the keyboard once since he's been home and typed 333333333 his favorite number of the day. But we have been getting alot of smooching and hugging and preening in and the little purring he does is music to my ears so I know he is real happy. His cage is right by my bed so he can be close to me. I have all my fids in my bedroom, I can let them out on thier cages and shut the door and I try to spend quality time with them all.
