I wanted you guys to see this pair of Quakers we rescued Friday. He has no chest feathers and is missing part of his beak and I think hes adorable and I already love him. The cage they were in looked like it hadnt been cleaned in a year a couple inches deep in poo and smelled of urine it was horrible. They are 2 happy little birds now and they are finally moving around some they had maybe a foot of room in the other cage to move around it was awful. They play on their cage and the little play gym right outside their cage Randy made for them and they eat all the time, they are really small so I'm sure they didnt get the right foods, but they sure love birdie bread. I'm glad we found them, we just added 2 more little blessing to our home.

Gabriel, I always smile when I see folks that care enough to save neglected, mistreated animals.
Hoping the bare chested guy will grow back his grey feathers with a proper diet and care.
Kudos,

Bless you for rescuing them! Isn't it amazing how they can come from such a horrible environment and yet trust you enough to sit on your hubby's shoulder in just two days!

Awwwww, bless you for taking those birds. Lucky you, lucky birds. The bare chested one looks like he snuggles next to the other one for support. They are beautiful just like they are but as some have said, maybe a great new sense of security, care and happiness will make him grow his feathers back.
One of my birds plucked his chest clean once and I always felt that giving him plain yogurt with a little bit of peach mixed in and some apple cider vinegar in his water did the trick. I believe it was bacterial or some kind of infection and that took care of it.
No, I didn't get ACVinegar from the health food store. I got the plain old ACV from the grocery. Anyway, his feathers started to grow back immediately.
Best wishes with these two beauties.
