At some point this year i will be looking to buy a Quaker parrot (possibly 2) but i'm struggling to find the name of a good breeder. If you happen to have the details of a breeder you would recommend in the UK would you pass them on please. Thank you

We have a couple of other members from the UK... and they have said that its quite difficult to find Quakers in the UK...for some reason they aren't very popular...

I think it's that nobody really hears much about them! I have no doubt that if given half a chance their popularity will rise. these guys have so much character I really want to get one from a good breeder though, i don't mind waiting so i'm sure i will get one if i persevere I'll let you know how i get on.

I spoke to a lady who breeds Quakers. She lives at the other end of the country but i don't mind as long as the bird is healthy. Her birds are currently showing interest in the box so she predicts around june/july for babies. I'll keep the board posted in case anyone else in the UK is looking for a Quaker as i've had a devil of a job finding someone who sounds like they care about the birds rather than the money they can bring
