Dear friends,
This is a sad day for us as my husband and I face the reality that we need to find new homes for some of our Quakers. Please forgive me for not going into the reasons why, but I think most of you know that we wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't necessary.
We need to find loving, forever homes for the following:
Alex, 13 yr old green female
Alex is a long-time plucker. She started plucking during a move to a new home and unfortunately became a habit. She is a good talker and has a sweet personality. Asking a $50 adoption fee. Includes cage, lixit glass water bottle and toys. Alex's health is excellent. Pet home only. Alex is my first Quaker. You can read her "diary" here:

Gator and Sky, 12 yr old green male, 14 yr old blue female
Gator and Sky are a true love match - they actually chose to be together, so I'd like to find a home that will accept them both and agree to keep them together. They cannot be bred as Sky was previously a breeder and has a problem where her babies always die in shell a few days before they are due to hatch. So they must go to a pet home only. Gator is an excellent talker, and Sky knows a few words and sounds as well. They are content with each other so don't require a lot of one-on-one human attention. Gator is a plucker, Sky is in perfect feather. Asking a $50 adoption fee for both. Includes cage, lixit glass water bottle and toys. Health of both is excellent.
River and Raine, 11 yr old green split to blue male, 11 yr old blue female
River and Raine are a bonded, proven pair. I bought them for breeding but then decided that I didn't want to be a breeder. We did allow them to raise one clutch of babies, and they were good parents. Baby, the bird at the top of the forum, is one of their offspring. She is one of the sweetest Quakers I've ever met. In fact, the breeder that I got River and Raine from chose her breeding stock based on personality, and her breeders consistently reproduced very sweet birds.
They both talk a little, and River in particular is a very sweet bird and likes to be handled - if you can get him out of the cage without Raine getting out. She can be quite the jealous wife! Raine is in excellent health. River has had a problem with fatty liver in the past, so you will need to be very careful not to overfeed him. As long as he's not allowed to overeat, he doesn't show any outward signs of the disease. Because this pair could be used for breeding, we are asking $400 for them. Includes cage, lixit glass water bottle and toys.
Our birds are fed Roudybush daily and sometimes fresh sprouts and birdie bread. They also eat a little fruit and nutri-berries on occasion. We prefer not to ship.
The cages are all from Animal Environments, the Acacia model. I don't see a price on the web site, but I believe the cages are around $380 purchased new. The cage can be viewed here:

Please PM me with any questions or if you are interested in helping us out by providing a good home for any of our treasured birds. Please be prepared to answer some questions about the home you can provide, as it is very important to us that these guys go to the best homes we can find. Thankfully, I know that this forum is the best place to find that kind of home.
We are located in Columbus, Ohio.
