Full Version: Jenday Conure For Adoption/foster In Md
Quaker Parrot Forum > Avian Re-Homing > Member's Birds Needing New Homes
PHENOMENON
Bobbie is a beautiful Jenday Conure. Loving, not nippy and gets along great with the my other birds. She was on some kind of spice bird food diet when I got her, but switched to Harrisons bird food without a problem.

She doesn't eat much of anything but pelleted food, and yogurt (don't forget the yogurt...flavored) I haven't had much luck getting her interested in veggies or fruits yet. She's fearless and takes to new experiences with gusto after an initial bout of timidy. She has just descovered the cloth beddy and has taken to it very well. She has a very nice cage and can keep all the toys that I purchased for her.

I am currently fostering Bobbie and she's the dearest, sweetest bird. But I no longer anticipate adopting her, and would like to help her find a very good home, so she can stop being kicked around.

How can anyone NOT want this sweetheart??

I just have to rave on this sweetheart! She will be a terrific addition to any home. She doesn't play with my other fids, but she doesn't attack them either. She goes about her business playing and watching television and dancing or playing with the toys, net etc.

She is very loving and loves scritches (she's loving on her terms) she may not step up every time when you want her too (she's not step trained and I haven't worked with her), but she will fly to your shoulder and come to you when you are busy.

Here's me acting like an absolute nut while I am cleaning her cage and her humoring me!

Bobbie is a bit over 5 years old is what I was told...practically a baby. I don't keep her caged anymore, she behaves beautifully.

sorry your to far away for me. good luck!

Deb: I would love to have that baby, but I think my husband would commit me into a psych ward if I even mention another right now. But...I do have my feelers out for you. I think the problem is going to be that people have to go through PL instead of just adopting through you. I'll let you know if I come up with anything. Bobbie is absolutely Beautiful!!!

Thanks guys!

I am sorry that you were rejected, Chick...don't give up cause I have been finding Suns right and left for rehome on Craiglist and Kijii.

I'll see what can be done to resolve the matter. Thanks for your well wishes.

oh were not avidly searching for a conure , but it woulda been nice... as it wqas since they wouldnt adopt to us we had to drive almost 3 hours to rescue our tiel, wouldda been easier to drive the 2 hours to phoneix landing....

When you say you do not keep her caged what do you mean? Like in she is out of cage and has free roam all the time? What about when you are sleep or not at home?

Did Bobbi ever get a home?

I have a feeling from what I've read on the other board that she's decided to keep her.

Good deal. That is great news! biggrin.gif
