Full Version: Made A Little Snuggly

I looked at the furry ones at the pet store but didn't like the inside seem hanging in there. I made this one myself. The inside is fleece and the outside is flannel. I'm going to make another one with fleece and a light cotton fabric on the outside.

It doesn't look great where it's hanging right now. It's hooked on the outside of the cage. When it hangs from the top it looks perfect, inside and out.

Tell me what you think.

Love It!!!
Got some directions and measurements to share?
Paula0442
It all decides on what size bird you're thalking about. This one was made for a new Parakeet. I'm going to make one that's just a tad bigger for my GCC today.
Sandi Kiwis Mom
You did a very good job.
Siobhan
OH, that's cute! Washable, too, I'll bet.
Paula0442
Definitely washable.
I think I'm going to start making them to sell. I've had a few people ask already.
The great thing is that they can be made in any pattern or just plain.
Elvis'Mom
Oh thats sounds good!

If you start selling them - let me know!

I need one my Quaker - you know he is kinda spoiled!

Paula0442
Just send me a PM and let me know what want. wink.gif

Paula0442
Julie, let me know what color, pattern you want. I'll do it tomorrow and have it sent out on Tuesday.
Anything for my girl. wub.gif
Paula0442
Oops! I just saw in the guidelines that you're not supposed to be selling things in a post. I didn't really mean for it to go that way. I was just showing off what I did. blush.gif

If anyone wants info, please send me a PM.
Paula0442
I made a new one yesterday. This one's for my GCC. I love the pattern.
Excuse the wet spots.

Juliesjungle, I started working on yours yesterday. wink.gif

Do you have anything in there for support? the ones I saw at the store had a formed bottom, with some type of insert. I was gonna make on for my guys, but couldn't decide what to do for support...

Am also curious what size for a QP? I'm thinking like 5" on each side, does that sound about right?

The little ones don't need a support. They stay round. I just made a larger one for Julie but it doesn't keep it's shape as much. I have an idea how to fix it. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

I'm doing:
Small (Parakeet, Finch, Canary, Parrotlet, Lovebird, GCC, etc...)
7"L x 6 1/2" W
Medium (Quaker, Conure, Cockatiel, etc...)[/b]
8"L x 7"W
Large (Hahn's, Caique, etc...)
10"L x 10"W

You are to sweet...Kiko and I say many thanks
Paula0442
I'm sending this one out to you in the morning but I'm going to work on another one for you too. I want it to keep the roundness a little better, for a heavier bird.
As usual, it looks terrible in the picture. It really isn't lopsided, like it looks.

Looks good! I love the idea of using the fleece for the straps. My sun can chew threw most straps in a day but I think those would be sturdy enough for her smile.gif
Annah
What I saw at the store was a triangle, with a stiff bottom. S you're just doing a tube and it works out ok?
Paula0442
I have four of the one you're talking about. They're nice, but I hate the messy seam that they have at the inside top. The ones I'm making have no seams.

The small ones work out great but, like I said, I have another idea for the larger ones. I'm trying it tomorrow and then I'll tell you my secret. wink.gif

Julie, I'm sending this one out to you in the morning. It has support all around it as the Easter egg snuggly didn't. I'm not thrilled with the way it turned out but I'm going to try it another way tomorrow.

As always, it looks awful in the pictures but it's perfectly, evenly round.

There was just a tad of fleece that poofed out a bit.

I packed up my desk so I don't have your address anymore. PM it to me when you can darlin'
