Full Version: Maybe I Am Impatient..but It Has Been 5 Weeks!

I ordered a bottlebrush gym for Ekko 5 weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything......and its driving me nuts!!! Those of you who ordered from Waynes parrot stuff could you tell me if he ever sent you any acknwledgement of receiving your order and/or a tracking number when he shipped it? I'm thinking I'm going to have to give him a call....I'd really like him to send me some confirmation he has received my order and payment and he is at least working on the gym. Not hearing anything is what has me confused and worried.

Unfortunately, 5 weeks isn't an unusual wait for one of Wayne's gyms. I think I've been waiting longer than for the gym I ordered for my future BCC. Knowing there would be a wait, however, I ordered even before Virgil was an egg. I did get a confirmation email after I placed the order. For my first gym, I also got a notice right before it shipped. The gym was worth the wait, though, because Frost loves it and uses the entire gym, not just one or two perches.

I did read on his site that 3-4 weeks was the usual wait...I am just getting worried since I didn't receive any confirmation from him...only thru paypal. I hope he does send a notification when he ships it...I am really anxious to get it and see if Ekko enjoys it as much as your Frost does hers!

If it was me i'll call and email every day till i get a response but i'm a virgo not very patient at all. If it says 3 to 4 weeks thats when it should be ready .

i emailed him and got a response by the next day! i am sure that he would understand that you are checking the status of your order, you don't want to be waiting and some fluke mix up happened and it is not being made! ohmy.gif i am sure that it is just a little behind, he does take alot of time and care on those pieces so hopefully all is well!

I wouldn't hesitate to email if you're worried. There could have been some mix up, but I now remember that Wayne sent a lengthy email earlier this spring explaining that he was running behind (so lengthy that I didn't read it to find out all the reasons).

some deliverys can take 4 to 6 weeks but yeah an email or phone call would never hurt.

I did send him a email April 16th asking if he did send tracking info once he shipped, I wanted to be sure I'd be home when it does arrive......no response. I guess I'll send another one, not receiving any notice of order received and then no response to my email makes me uneasy. I REALLY want to get this playgym for Ekko!

There must be a logical reason for the delay. Although the usual wait might be 3 or 4 weeks, he may be facing unusual circumstances: perhaps an illness, a vacation, an unusually high work load, etc. How did you issue payment to him? Was it a check? If so, you should be able to check your bank statement or contact your bank to find out if the check has been cashed. If it was by credit card or Paypal, then you are backed by the credit card company and/or Paypal if he doesn't come through with the product. I would recommend that you send another e-mail to him. Reference an order number if you have one, and be sure to give him your contact information again just to be sure. If you don't hear from him within a day or two, try to call him. Just explain that you haven't received any kind of confirmation of your order, or acknowledgement of your payment, and you want to be sure that he has received everything he needs to fulfill the order, etc.

Ok...I just sent him another email....if I don't get a response to this one then I'll give him a call. I just want acknowledgement of him receiving the order...............well....I REALLY want the playgym but acknowledgement he has received order would ease my worries. Then I can go being anxious/excited....like a kid waiting for Christmas! laugh.gif

Here's the link to the gym page. Frost has the tabletop gym at the very bottom of the page, which is a nice size for her. I'm ordering a floor model for my BCC.

I just received a reply from Wayne....he did receive my order! Yay! I feel better now! I'll post pictures when it gets here!

I wish I was updating to say it finally arrived...unfortunately thats not the case. sad.gif I ordered and paid for it on March 28th....here it is May 28th and its still not here!!! After more than 2 months waiting for it Ekko better love this thing when it finally does arrive!!!

dang sad.gif that sucks , maybe he got ill, i know sometimes i will fall behind on an order (never THAT far but my stuff is much smaller LOL)

When I ordered it I thought it would make a nice Easter gift...even tho I figured it would be a week or 2 after Easter when we got it....then I hoped to have it for him by Memorial Day......so now I am hoping to have it by June 2oth...Ekko's hatchday. laugh.gif

I just found out that the one I ordered in February is shipping this week. Fortunately, knowing it was going to take a long time, I ordered it for my blue crown before he was even an egg. Now it will be ready for him when he is weaned and comes home. In the meantime, Frost can break it in for him. I'll post a pic when it arrives.

Did you get it? I am still waiting sad.gif ....I do hope it gets here by the 20th. Not holding my breath tho.

Unless I get it (isn't looking good angry.gif ) and Ekko absolutely loves it and it keeps him busy I won't order again either. 2 1/2 months is ridicilous. If he is that far behind he should quit taking orders or at least inform potetntial customers there is a 2-4 month ( or more!) wait.....and give them the option of ordering or not.

I talked to Wayne on the phone. He is having all sorts of problems, but I believe we will all get our stuff eventually. I'll let you know when my gym comes.

From postings on other boards we aren't the only ones waiting on orders. If he is having problems delivering the goods that have already been paid for he should contact his customers and ask them if they want to continue to wait or want a refund. No communication from him at all makes me nervous......not real good business practice in my opinion.

Me either. I ordered before Virgil was even an egg, and now he's 13 weeks old. I ended up ordering a Wayne gym from the Golden Cockatoo and it came within the week. If I eventually get the other one, I have a place for it. Terrible customer service, but the man makes an incredible product.

Wow, that's a really long time...I don't think I've posted on this thread before, but I have been keeping up with it.....hopefully your playgyms come soon!

Edit: Hmm...I don't know if an "incredible product" is worth the bad customer service....if I saw one, I would probably think different. smile.gif

I went to the site, and he has this posted. Sounds like he doesn't have the money to make the product or send you a refund. He's got a whole lot of excuses though..

Wow, that's beyond ridiculous, and his open letter just sounds like he's trying to hold you off a little longer to keep you from burying him in complaints. What's he doing, growing the trees for the wood for the playgyms??? I could see a month. I could even see six weeks if he has to make each one individually by hand. But at this point I'd be looking into legal action. PayPal is really great about giving you a refund even if the person you ordered from won't pony up, and then the vendor gets blacklisted on PayPal, but if you sent a check and it's been cashed, I'm not sure what you can do from there. A certified letter informing him that you'll be contacting the BBB in his area?

Reporting him to the BBB is a good suggestion. Other than that, there's really not much you can do if you paid by check and it's been cashed, other than taking him to small claims court. Depending on the cost of the playgyms, I would definitely consider that option.

Holy cadoodles!!! Just caught up on whats happening with these playgyms and I'm amazed at how badly run this guys business is mad.gif

Did anyone else get the drift that your orders are being put to the side while he makes them for the wholesaler?? Wow.. not nice!

As far as advertising on chat boards etc when you do FINALLY get your products.. pfft.. like I'd be giving that guy ANY good press after waiting all that time.

Terrible business practice IMO.

The guy should be fulfilling "paid" orders before taking on any more or selling to a wholesaler sheesh..

Good luck folks.. hope you get your playgyms while your fids are young enough to use them hmph.

Has anyone left hanging checked into what can be done to get your money back??

WoW, I can't believe that you still don't have it. That is unbelievable! and beyond ridiculous. He has posted an open letter on site and promising he will get them to the people that have already placed orders, but he isn't going to do online ordering anymore......

I ordered a hanging gym and a double standard gym on 4/17/09 still dont have them His phone has been shut off and he wont answer emails ive tried 5 times I also called pay pal and they wont do anything after 45 days Wayne told me to jump on the bandwagon with all the rest All i wanted to know is why he couldnt send mine when he is making gyms for the golden cockatoo in Fla. If any one knows any more please reply Im out big bucks soloman
