cool.gif River now chases Raine away from whatever side of the cage I'm on and gives me kisses. wub.gif She (Raine) still growls at me like a little blue bear rolleyes.gif I have been letting them out ontop of their cage every day, and they are getting better about stay-ing on it...when they know to stay where I put them I have a huge play tree that all the others get to play on...then I can give them a turn too!
I am so blessed to have (all) these Quakers (5 in all)

i don't know how you do it, jo!! i have the other (3) of shelly's quakers and my quaker is still not adjusting to the new arrivals and it's been over a month... a month filled with lots of screaming.

the bonded pair of shelly's (Gator and Sky) still want nothing to do with me except to give them treats lol. Gator guards Sky religiously (not that she'd let me near her anyway!) I let them out too but Sky can't figure out how to get back inside and it's always a chore trying to get her back in without her flying away or Gator trying to attack me!

we're still trying to find forever homes for Alex, Gator and Sky. do you want 3 more?!?! biggrin.gif
Jo (jflanner3)
biggrin.gif Actually, Alex would probably fit right in...I have 2 Quakers that Pluck, Holly and Corky...the only 2 Quakers in the same cage are River and Raine.
Shelly said River was a Sweetheart and he is wub.gif Raine is just what she is, a territorial female Quaker, but all I have wanted since I started taking in Fiddies is a Blue Quaker, figuring since I don't 'buy' Fiddies I would never have one...I tell Raine everyday how beautiful she is and that my love is unconditional, the whole time she is growling at me rolleyes.gif All my Quakers do the Quaker screech...then Holly will yell "QuakerQuakerQuaker" they are a hoot. tongue.gif

You two are so great to have been able to help Shelly out with this. I bet it is a HUGE relief to her to be able to see how her birds are being taken care of.

I hope the three of them do find forever homes, but in the meantime, Kris, you're doing a wonderful job of fostering them smile.gif

thank you, carrie~anne! all 3 of them are beautiful birds. alex is SO sweet. her tiny squeaky voice melts my heart. i just wish cricket would learn to accept her. i uncover him first, play with him first, his bed time is 2 hours later than the others... but he just won't stop screaming at her. then she screams back. which makes gator scream and so on. and i think it's just alex he doesn't like because the other 2 don't get hands on attention.

jo, i would never be able to afford a blue quaker and Sky is SO pretty. like you, i tell her how beautiful she is all the time.... while gator is snapping at me and sky is growling at me.

shelly did mention to me that you might be interested in alex... let me know if you really thing she'd fit in. i drive to cincinnati once a month because my weight loss surgeon is in cincinnati! both shelly and i have talked to a few people who were interested in alex and/or gator and sky but i just didn't feel comfortable with the people i spoke to.

biggrin.gif If it's Alex your Quaker isn't too fond of...bring her down...I can always make room for a 'Qwaker" wub.gif as my Hubbs calls em.
My Fiddies are used to other 'step Fidlings' blush.gif coming and going tongue.gif I have 4 Cockatiels looking for a new home now dry.gif Just let me know when biggrin.gif

oh jo... that makes me SO happy to hear! did you see the video i posted of alex under the rehoming section? i'm going to email shelly just to make sure she's okay with it (which i'm sure she will be since you have river and raine!!)

this upcoming weekend is mother's day so maybe the weekend after?

this is so hard for me. i love my cricket. i know i've spoiled him and deep down i knew he wouldn't accept any new birds which is why i needed to try fostering first.

alex is the sweetest half naked chicken i've ever seen. she deserves better than i can give her.

i'm going to email shelly now!

I certainly have enjoyed reading about quaker stories from you two, Kris and Jo...yep, sounds like a handful---and yet a lot of fun...Kudos to you both for helping with the placement of the wonderful quakers.... smile.gif
