I have a 13 year old male quaker parrot that we inherited a month ago. My brother and sister-in-law have raised him since he was a baby and were no longer able to keep him. As I said we have had him for a month but do not have the time he requires to help him adjust; not to mention we have 2 cats. I am looking for a loving home for him with someone who has experience with quakers. I can travel a short distance to a good home. I also want to mention that I will be picky about his placement. I will not give him to just anyone. He will be a great pet for someone who has the time to spend with him. He was very loving with his last family. I will be glad to take a picture and send it to anyone who is interested.

I have a 7 year old quaker that was hand raised by my daughter. She has left for college and will not be able to take her parrot for two yers. I believe that her little bird would be happy if he had a friend. I know Quakers are social birds and if they have another bird they do not need the same amount of attention they need when they are alone. I live in Baton Rouge Louisiana.

Because they are both "older" birds and have been "only" birds for so long it is very doubtful they would even like each other. And getting another bird does not mean you can spend less time with them, it means you have to have time to spend with two birds. They each need one on one time.

If you don't have any responses I have a friend who lives in Alaska who takes in birds and help find them GOOD homes. She is very picky about who gets them and she is a behaviorist who works with problem birds before finding them homes. PM me if you are interested I will get in contact with her.
