A few months back I posted a few threads about a little kitten who was orphaned at the clinic I work for after his mom died during a c-section. I was ONLY going to bottle feed him until he was weaned and then find him a home. I was SO NOT keeping him!! Well to no one's surprise I kept him. He is about 5 1/2 months old now and has grown into a bratty teenage boy cat who gets into everything and does not listen! Today was his big day (he got neutered) and I think it made him even crazier. Tonight he is bouncing off the walls and biting me...I am really glad he is crate trained at night or I would not be getting any sleep tonight.

I thought I would post a few pics of him growing up to commemorate the day LOL

This is when I first brought him home, he was 4 days old:

Two weeks:

He finally opened his eyes at 4 weeks

His favorite toy in the world is this beanie baby kitten that he got when he was 3 weeks old

He still loves it to this day and sleeps with it every night!

As you can see he is quickly outgrowing his name. He is 7 pounds now at 5 1/2 months old

Ah Ha--- laugh.gif so you have you a little bratty baby, huh? and I can't believe it has been that long---wow---
Little is cute as a he can be and I want to say you did a wonderful job raising him Tara....
Just let him know who is boss now; that is what my sister is finding out with a 2 week old that she took in...she said he likes to bite all the time..and the vet told her the reason for that is because it didn't nurse as an infant.
So I don't know....but vet said to pinch his paw or thump him if he misbehaves....her kitty is about 9 or 10 weeks old....and sister said he is so cuddly at night (kitty sleeps with her)...and he will get neutered also...

Wishing you and Little a happy life together, just teach him early as you are doing.... smile.gif

Its funny how you end up keeping the little guy after everything...I know, I've been there (though it was hubby - Mr "we dont need another cat" who fell in love & couldnt part with mine...). laugh.gif

The hardest part is teaching them not to bite hard. This is one area in their development that tends to be a struggle because the siblings & mom are the ones who teach them about hard bites. I own a monster as a result of that (and I swear he was a vampire in his former life).

He's very cute and the pictures bring back memories.

My goodness he's grown.

We've acquired 3 new kittens a month or so ago...all siblings...and talk about wild...they're sweet one moment and then go crazy the next lol.

We're finding that when they get to playing too rough with each other that they stop when one cries out. So if they're playing with us and get too rough we make a high pitched ouch and they seem to stop for the most part. Or if they don't I'll get a hold of their scruff and give a quick shake (just one short motion) and that gets their attention as well, cut that's what mom would do for correction.

Just adorable. I can imagine, after all that bonding with him, when he was so tiny, it would have been very difficult to give him up. You really are his Mommy. smile.gif

Such a cutie.

He is very gentle with me when he plays (usually), however he can sometimes be snotty when he is corrected and is very rough with the other cats! They completely tolerate him with the exception of DayDay who won't have anything to do with him. I am hoping he will settle down with them a little once all of that testosterone is gone!!

Just wondering how Little is doing since his surgery?
