I have a Quaker named Oatie who lives with her friend who is an Indian Ringneck. I am trying to be kind to them and give them a new home because I don't think they are getting the attention from our family that they both deserve. I would like them to go as a pair - they have lived together for about a year now and I wouldn't want to see them separated. They would come with their own cage and a few toys, dishes, etc. I haven't decided on an adoption/rehoming fee yet or if there even needs to be one (any advice would be appreciated on this subject). I feel like if the right person comes along who can take care of them and will pay attention to them and plans to keep them forever then there really doesn't need to be a fee, but I have heard bad things about not asking for a fee so I'm just not sure. Anyway, I live in north central Illinois and would be happy to send pictures of them if you are interested.
Thanks
Laura

Many people ask a rehoming/adoption fee and that kind of helps weed out the ones who are wanting something for nothing...Then if you find that you feel they will be a good match you can choose to wave the fee etc.
You might want to give us more info as to where you are located, whether you're willing to ship or if you're willing to meet someone half way for pick up etc.
Also if the birds have any habits good or bad that would help make the new parrents have an easier time with them etc .
I wish you good luck in finding just the right home.

Thank you for the replies and advice. Oatie is about 1 1/2 years old. We live in north central Illinois and I would be happy to drive a little ways for just the right person. I don't know about shipping - wouldn't that be hard on the birds?
