Dear Quaker Parents,
I wrote on this forum about a year ago, regarding the legality of quakers in 'illegal states'... well, this year my husband finally landed an out-of-state job. In CALIFORNIA... of all the quaker-hating states.... We would be living in a teeny-tiny apartment where neighbors might go crazy hearing our birdies, and I am so afraid of them being discovered. I desperately want them to be SAFE above anything, even if it is breaking my heart to think I have to leave them. I want them to be in a safe, loving home with someone who will give them the attention they deserve. 2 of the 3 have special needs, but it would be too long to discuss here. If anyone has it in their heart to open their home to 3 quakers, we would love to consider you as new parents, and I would love to discuss any details. Please, please help if you can.

I am so very sorry you have to move to Calif, been there, done that, although I took my quaker with me, but I had only one. Is there any way that you can live in a bordering state, ie Nevada, Oregon? I don't know where you are moving but we lived in Riverside and we went to Nevada alot which was maybe a 2 hr drive. I am sure your Hubby wouldn't appreciate driving 2 hrs, but if it was possible to keep your birds......Just some thoughts........

I'm sorry that you are having to move and not able to take your babies. I am in Iowa and I would be willing to talk to you about adopting them. I'm new to the forum, so not sure what I need to say here. I can give you my e-mail address if that would help. Just let me know.

I traveled through California this summer. I had to be stopped and searched, they are very serious about protecting their agriculture. I think you are doing the right thing. I live in the suburbs, but don't have the means to take them in. If you need help transporting I could possibly help for a leg of the journey. I hope you find them good homes.
