I cleaned Henry's aquarium today -- he's such a neat little mouse that I only do that every other day or so, while the birds are such slobs I do theirs every day laugh.gif . So he hides in his little house when I'm cleaning but he poked his nose out to see what I was up to and where I thought I was taking all his STUFF. tongue.gif After I was done cleaning and started putting stuff back, he came all the way out and investigated (took inventory, perhaps I should say!) and didn't seem a bit alarmed at my presence or by my hands. Not that he's letting me pick him up or anything yet, but he is calming down. He ate some millet out of Hubby's hand last night.

Cute laugh.gif He must be learning from the quakers to be territorial over his things smile.gif lol.. Sounds like he is coming around!

Henry ate some millet out of MY hand tonight, and then I left my hand in his aquarium and he took the millet and ate it sitting next to my hand. He walked all around in his aquarium and tried sniffing my hand and walked across it and didn't seem at all perturbed by it. Whoo hoo! I tried talking to him very softly (the echo inside an aquarium is immense, so you can't talk down into it without sounding like a monster) and he looked up at me and didn't run then, either.

I have found taking a moment to run my hand through the bedding of the cage often helps with the introduction & warming up phase. It allows you to transfer some of the "scent" to your hands & it transfers your scent into the bedding.

I'm glad to hear he is warming up and taking treats from you now.

Your household seems to be growing biggrin.gif . I love the little mouses and even rats they are so sweet.
