Full Version: 5month Quaker Needs New Home
Quaker Parrot Forum > Avian Re-Homing > Member's Birds Needing New Homes
Gunky
Hello, allow me to introduce myself, I am Franco a 21 year old college student who always loved birds and pets of all kinds since I was a kid. I recently found this site and read the articles and purchased a Quaker parrot about a week ago. This is my second Quaker ever, first one I had when I was twelve, it passed away (naturally), I bought it when the parrot was almost eight years old. I come to this forum with sad news, my new five month old Quaker (named Pat) needs a new home, I cannot care for it due to personal and family obligations, just bad timing overall. I should of planned ahead more. Unfortunately the pet store I bought it from does not issue refunds nor exchanges. This is my last option that someone here will buy the parrot and give it the attention and love it deserves. I bought the parrot for $350, and with the cage and all accessories it cost me $500. I am not looking to recuperate all of my money, though that would be nice laugh.gif , but I am just looking to get some money at least in return for the parrot as I am a college student, and this was an early birthday gift to myself (sad I know). So if anyone has serious offers about this parrot please post here or msg me. I am located in Brooklyn, NY but I can drive within NYC, and even Long Island if needed so we can do a meetup for cash. I don't even know if pets can be shipped, if so, the person buying it would have to help set it up, I also accept PayPal.

Here are pictures of Pat and cage and accessories, which will be included.

Thank you.
Gunky
I'll take a $350 fee for the parrot and cage.

I wish you luck finding a new home. It is summer time right now and there aren't a lot of people on here right now, so just give it a little time......

I hope, today my mom was getting a little angry with me about getting a Quaker. She was never fond of my pet birds in the past.

I'm sorry about your situation. I know it must be hard to give away something you love. I just lost my parrot, he died 2 days ago. I' am devastated. I work out of my home, I'm home more than not, I have a deck in which my Pete went out daily, bathed daily, and it was a good life. He was 9 years old. I did send you a message to see if you've found a home yet, I live in CT, and although I don't feel confident enough to drive to the city, I could meet. I wouldn't be interested in the cage though, as I am all set up already for a bird, but perhaps you could just sell them both seperatly?? The cage I have already appears sturdier for a quaker.

I'm willing to actually let this bird be taken in with no fees if you're local in the NYC area
