Has anyone ever cleaned their rope perches before? There is one in Chewy's cage that is just covered (all the other perches are fine, this one must be in a bad spot lol) - Are they easy to clean? Or would it just be easier to buy a new one for the $7.00 they cost?

I just clean mine with a plastic pan scrubber.I use mild dish soap and hot water. I make sure I rinse all the soap off too. Others on here put them in the dishwasher-that works too.

Dishwaster is an excellent idea as it sanitizes them at the end of the cycle too!

I soak mine in diluted vinegar water, and also scrub with a dishwashing brush. Dry it with a towel.......it is warm right now, so they dry the rest of the way in the cage

I clean them with a steamer and a scrub brush. The steam kills the bacteria that may be on them. I then rinse them down with hot water and let them air dry.

I scrub them down with a wet washcloth or even a scrub brush when they're really icky, but if you scrape them off every day when you change the paper, they don't get too bad in between times. Clyde doesn't poo on his but Jade does.

I've always just scrubbed them down with soapy water but I took Moonchild's advice about the dishwasher and it worked great! Thanks Moonchild for the great idea!
