My cage is not brass or brass-like in appearsance but I am sitting for a bird who has a brass bird cage (or it looks like brass).

Question: If a cage has a brass finish, what does that mean? Does that mean actualy brass is used.

Brass is a compound that consists of copper and zinc. I heard zince is bad for birds if they ingest it. So what's the deal, should people not buy brass cages or cages with an antique brass finish?

Just curious becuase I always said that if I ever got the girls a new cage I would get a brass one.
