I went to a bird show this morning and did they ever have some BEAUTIFUL BABIES there and some awsome prices on ever thing..
Here is a cage I got Mater so that I won't have to buy him another one for the rest of his life and I only paid $35.00 for it.
It is a huge cage for him.
Tell me what yall think..

I have a cage very similar to that that I use as a flight cage for my finches, it should do just fine for your quaker. Make sure that you hang toys at all differnt heights and have food and water dishes at different levels so he learns to use the whole cage.
The only down fall this cage has in my opinion is that it doesn't have doors for feeding dishes to have outside access to them. It isn't a big deal if your bird doesn't become too cage agressive, but if he does, reaching in through a main door can be a hassle.
But you can do a lot with that cage with it having a flat top you can make your own play gym on the top for him to go up and play on.
And for 35$ that is a great deal.

That was a good deal. Was it a new one?. I have 2 that are similar but they do have feed doors that open and seed guards. They also have doors on each side up high for nest boxes. But the cage itself looks like yours. They are nice cages.

I have to pick him up some more toys for it and I put water dishes up top and on the bottom and I positioned his perchs at different levels.
It was a new one, so I was real shocked at how cheap it was, they had some real nice ones there and they were cheap as well. This same cage at Petco( i'd rather ake a beating then go to that store) went for close to $65 i think, I seen it and was shocked.
The only thing I didn't really like was that it didn't have a stand for it but the guy that I bought it from said that the next bird show they have I can come and pick one up and he won't charge me. I was wanting to know about nest box's. Are they a good thing for like a single quaker? This one has it to where I can remove the dishes in order to wash them and add more food, i don't have to reach in to get them. But i take him out a lot through out the day so, I'm hopeing it will cut the cage agression out.

No, do not give a single quaker a nest box. The get very protective of it and it just causes them to be more hormonal. If you have no plans on using this bird as a breeder you're better off doing things that will not promote hormonal behavior whether it is a male or a female. They get hormonal enough as it is once they reach sexual maturity.
The closest thing I would give them to a nest box would be a happy hut or something similar to that however, not all quakers are interested in them, I have on pet bird that likes and uses hers to sleep in and the other female pet that doesn't do anything with hers except shred it to little tiny pieces

Thank You, I didn't know about the nest thing, and he normally just sits on the perch to sleep...
I think he likes his new home, He sure has been exploring in it this afternoon...
