I've noticed lately Jimmy is really responsive to noise or sound
and I had the radio on as I was doing the housework and he really likes
guitar sounds. He'll bop and will almost dance as if to the beat so that was
rather cute. I have a thing for retro music and had it on the oldies station and he loved
Pretty woman, he got really chirpie to it.

The other morning though when I had the tele on the program I was watching had the weather
person with a dolphin and it made its laughing sound and Jimmy responded! he bopped and chirped
back. So later that night Ash looked on the computer for dolphin noises and he loved it! he wanted
to get closer to the computer which was funny

I can not decied if Hedwig sounds like a duck, chicken or even a purring cat. Now you tell me if I play dophines singing QP's like that. LOL. You are going to come home one day and wonder if you are in a marina. tongue.gif
As for Music I have been playing the 80's 90's and county. Hedwig does not seem to care, I think I will try some heavy metal guitar. Thanks for the suggestion.

You never know what you might find on my stereo so I've had a chance to observe my birds' reactions to all kinds of music. Classical, Celtic, oldies like doo-wops, Beatles, Bee Gees, Rolling Stones, they like all that. Country (unless it's Keith Urban, they like him) is not popular. I played some Stevie Wonder yesterday and they liked him. They like big band music a LOT.

When I'm playing instruments, they like the flute and the mandolin and the guitar. They don't care for the bass much and they object heartily to drums and the jury's still out on the clarinet. Benjy likes the fiddle and the others don't. Everyone likes the orchestral bells, but Benjy especially liked that. Benjy likes almost everything. biggrin.gif Just experiment to see what gets the best reaction. If they don't like it, they're not shy about saying so. laugh.gif When you do find something they like and they start singing and chirping and bopping along, it's lots of fun. I was practicing my mandolin yesterday and they were all so enthusiastic that I could hardly hear the mandolin. The Quakers are big chickens and if we walk past them carrying a guitar or something, they freak out, but they like the sound if the instrument if it's at a safe distance from them. However, they like my mandolin so much that Clyde has even sat on my head while I played it.

well last night I downloaded different sounds and Jimmy especially for some reason likes it when he
hears raspberries like what you do on a babies belly. He'll bop his head and even did the motion of regurgitation so he must of liked that noise!

so I'll certainly be playing around with noises Nessie she likes classical music the best and will chirp along to that

Tiki loves listening to the Live Orca sounds when the whales are around, he knows what the sounds are for sure after listening for a few years. I am trying to teach him to say " Listen to the whales" when we hear them, he dosn't like the boat noises though. ohmy.gif

Unfortunately for me, Yoda doesn't seem to like noise. I'm a big music listener of all different sorts of music...but he will just yell his little birdie head off when I try to listen to any of it. He screams at the TV too, and the shower. He likes it quiet...which I don't.

But, it's HIS house now, so I'm getting used to the quiet...kinda.

It is funny you talk about them bobbing to the music...I saw a perch today that bounced slightly up and down so the bird could dance to the music. I didn't think our new rescue was ready for that yet.LOL
