I went to lowes today to get some supplys for a boing, but they had no cotton rope! sad.gif So I went ahead and got some manila rope.
Anyone know if this rope is ok to use? huh.gif Or if I will need to do clean it in some way to make it safe.
Thanks! wink.gif

Found an article about this... http://jamiesparrothelp.wordpress.com/2009...-and-wont-fray/
Would you say thats legit? Since they have pics of parrots on it I guess it couldnt be too bad for the birds cause they look healthy.

Cosmo.. I've used sisal and Manilla for the ones I made for the fids here. I made sure before buying it that it wasn't treated with anything like oil or chemicals etc.

Here's the link for the one I made. Super easy to make too which was nice and you can make it as long as you like.

I made small ones for in the cages, and a really long one for the livingroom. It goes from ceiling to 2 feet above the floor lol

The Manilla is really cost effective, and it's safe for the birdies. If they chew on it, it doesn't produce stringy stuff that could tangle them up. It shreds instead.. so it's dual purpose smile.gif

can't wait to see it when you're done smile.gif
it's so cool to see how each persons boings come out differently. Nobody uses the exact size or toy additions or other decorations. Its like seeing a new toy every time someone makes one smile.gif

oh and as far as other cool toys.. two words for ya.. "jolly ball" laugh.gif

it's been a SUPER hit here with the boys smile.gif
