Hi all from far off Perth, Western Australia. I have joined this site as I intend to get a Quaker and want to get as much info as poss. I have previously owned a Cockatiel called Jack.
I look forward to investigating the fun world of Quaker ownership.

Hi Steve and welcome to the forum. You've come to the right place, there's lots of great people here who will be more than happy to answer any questions and offer advise.
The main thing to remember here is, there is no such thing as a dumb, stupid, or silly question. So don't be afraid to ask questions.
I'd like to suggest that if you haven't already done so you might look into purchasing the book, "A Guide To Quaker Parrots" by Mattie Sue Athon. Its a great book, full of a lot of information about our little feathered kids. (fids)
One of the most important things is their diet. And since Quakers especially are prone to Fatty Liver Disease (FLD) its important to not allow them to be on a total seed diet. Make sure you give them a diet consisting of 50-70 percent pelleted food and then fill the remaining amount in with good fruits and veggies. A little seed as a treat is fine, just don't make it a staple and only small amounts when you do.
Again, Welcome to the forum.
