So I've managed to wade through all 34 pages in this section and it's changed my perception of things. I seem to be viewing the world in a completely new and bird oriented way! As I was picking up my daughter's clipo and grumbling over how much work it was going to be to get all of the banana out of the pieces it occured to me that it may be a GOOD thing!!!
For those of you without small children, Clipo is the 18 months and up verson of baby lego that has the little knobbies all over it so small kids can stick the pieces together easily. Completely non-toxic, rainbow bright primary colours, funky shapes, and CHEAP (especially if you watch for bucket sales - I just bought 50 pieces for 6.99)!
Here's a link in case you have no clue what I'm blabbering on about. =)

What if you, for example, took your handy dandy drill and punched a hole through one end of that rectangular bad boy so you could fit a zip strap through it, slathered the whole thing in peanut butter, rolled it in dried fruit, or seeds, or small nuts, or something non-wet and suitably munchable and then hung it in a convenient corner of the cage? The little knobby bits would make getting the food take an excruciatingly long time and would require oodles of focus and patience. If little birds are any thing like little girls, anything that keeps them busy is a blessing.
Has anyone tried this or something like it?
