They fit in with Cricket and my budgies much better than I expected. Gator and Sky don't want anything to do with Cricket but the feeling is mutual. I have Gator and Sky's cage next to the budgies cage and the 4 of them seem to get along. They don't play together but they spend time on each others cages.
Sky is so quiet. I don't think I've ever heard her talk but Gator makes up for Sky's quietness. Gator makes me laugh on a daily basis. He sticks up for me when everyone else is noisy. I say to him, "Gator... tell them!" and he says, "BE quiet!" I love it. His songs make me laugh because he usually only sings when he's tired.
Neither Gator nor Sky will let me get close to them but I'm okay with that. They'll both accept treats from my fingers but Sky definitely doesn't like hands and it takes her a few minutes before she gets up the courage to reach her neck far enough to grab the nutriberry. I'm not sure if it's the weather or what but Gator doesn't seem to be plucking as much. For awhile he had a sore on his chest and the top of his wings were really red. Now there is just healthy, pink skin!
My Cricket has turned into a big mimic-er. He has Gator's gruffy voice down pat... with his "bye-bye" practiced to perfection! I don't remember what words you said Gator knows but I swear today he kept saying "go poopy...go poopy" lol
Thank you, Shelly, for trusting me with Gator and Sky. Since you don't know their specific birthdays, I gave them each a date. Sky's is August 31st and Gator's will be September 30th so his birthday is coming up soon... another year older!
Shelly, I'm not even sure you'll read this but thank you again...for trusting me with your quakers. I love them both so much but I would understand if you'd ever decided you want them back. They are both such good birds!
