Does anyone know anything that is bird safe that I can use to get rid of fleas in the house? I'm absolutely being eaten alive, but I'm afraid to use anything around the birds! Please HELP!!!!

This has come up before ...
Flea Thread ...
Basically 20 Mule Team Borax in the carpet, let it set overnite, vacuum, repeat, and then again in about a week or so to get the second generation ... I've also heard salt, but the Borax works well

also after you vacuum make sure to toss the bag immediatly so any of the live bugs don't come back.
We are dealing with a mild outbreak here as well - one of the foster dogs brought them with her. Wash everything you can - bedding, blankets, etc. and vacuum as much as you can. If possible confine the furry friends to hard surface areas only for the next few months.

Ok so I've tried boraxing and vacuuming and washing everything, but I'm still getting eaten up. I've even been wearing bug spray. Is there anything to use that's safe around birds(our house is really small, so there's no way to move them somewhere else). Are any of the carpet flea powders safe? Like if we put them in one room while we treat the others? I'm desperate and miserable here. The irritating thing is I don't have any dogs, so they're not the culprit. HELP PLEASE!???

If you don't have dogs or cats it probably isn't fleas. They could be chiggers. There are some sprays you can use on the fabric and carpet that are safe - just move the birds to another room while spraying. If it that doens't help you may have to call and exterminator to take care of it - they will know what is safe to use around the birds.

Here is an old wives tell for ya...
Go get some banana's and take the peeling off and use the bananas for the birds..and take the peeling and lay them around your house and it is suppose to kill them.. or run them off,, I have senn my grandma do this a lot but never paid attention to whether or not it actually work...usualy if they are sand flea's the lil ones, sometimes you have to let them migrate out or call an exterminator to get rid of them
