Hello everyone, I am Suzie aka Rainfire. Im very happy to say that I am getting my first ever Quaker tomorrow. Its a 16 week old green QP that hasn't been DNA sexed yet. I joined the site to talk with other Quaker owners and hopefully pick up some tips and make some new friends. I presently share my home with my 4 children, 2 Golden Retrievers, 2 cats, 3 rats and a hamster. I originally planned on getting an African Grey, but after a lot of reading decided that Quakers seemed to be a much better choice for a first time parrot owner. I picked up the cage today..its looks so empty Well, I look forward to talking to you all and any tips or info would be appreciated.

Welcome! I'm new around here too- and just moved to Scarborough in April!


I'd so love to make a new birdie friend! I don't have a qp yet, I would LOVE to meet yours some day. I run a small private rescue for small birds- and found this forum purely by accident. Its a great place, congrats for getting into such a fun and informative forum. I think it will be a huge joy and help for you as a first time QP mommy!
