Both Quakers have decided they don't like Nutriberries anymore. Clyde just throws them if I give him one. Jade will take it, nibble on it a moment or two, and drop it. In their treat cup every day, I give them each a bit of cockatiel mix seed but at the store today I saw this fruit blend mixture that looked appetizing so I bought that and gave them that in their treat cups today instead. I explained to Clyde that even though it says "cockatiel" on the bag, that's just because the store doesn't have anything that says "Quaker parrot" laugh.gif and it doesn't mean HE can't eat it, too. He was skeptical, but he tried it and he likes it. Jade ate some, but I think she was wondering where her seed was. Neither one will eat fruit as a rule, so I keep trying to find stuff that will give them some variety in their diets. They're both such creatures of habit that they usually won't try anything new. Sigh.
Quincy's Slave
Quincy hates nutriberries too but he does like avicakes. He's also a big fan of almonds and pumpkin seeds in the shell.

My guys LOVE tlc crackers in limited amounts! One day, one of the tiels stole one from my daughter. Now, they go gaga if they *think* they hear the box and come flocking to the kitchen. That is about the most processed food that is around here, but I still think erm- crackers=salt so we might get one box in here for the 2 leggeds every month or so, and each birdie gets one cracker.

Mind LOVE dried fruit mix though, so they get a bit of that every week. I skip the petstore and go straight to the natural food store. I figure, in the busy shopping mart things will be fresher then perhaps sitting boxed on a shelf at the petstore? That, and certain things are much less expensive.
