Wouldn't you think as soon as the cage opened, he wouldn't be able to get out fast enough?
Not the case here haha.

Before he got his wings clipped he would sit on the bed with me and just be cute - he would make lots and lots of kiss noises to me and now that his wings are clipped he does not want to do anything EXCEPT sit in his cage - If I do put him on the bed with me he just trys to jump back to his cage.

I don't know how to get him to relax and stay out with me.

How long has it been since you had his wings trimmed? If its only been a few days and this is the first trim for him, he probably feels off balance a bit and is afraid to venture too far away from a perch for fear of falling.

What you might want to do is when you take him out of his cage, take him completely out of sight of his cage. Work with him doing step ups etc and getting him to flap his wings so that he gets used to how the air feels going through the feathers. Once he's comfortable with it, chances are he'll be back to his normal self in no time.

He might also be a little put out with you and is showing you by not wanting to hang around with you. Just keep after him and play with him and make it more enjoyable outside the cage than it is inside.

Awwwwwwww poor little guy probably doesn`t know whats happened , give him some time and extra loving ..I only clipped my sunny once he was so depressed ..Buddy has never been clipped ..but I have a great place that they can enjoy flying safely , this is not always possible ..your little guy will get better when he adjusts ...

Aw. Maybe he is depressed about it sad.gif I hope not.
He has his own room pretty much that just has a bed and his sleeping cage and he would fly around if he got spooked - I was just told that getting his wings clipped would help tame him down faster and make him easier to bond with me.

It has only been 1 day since he got clipped - he lets me pet him more (because he can't fly away ha) but he stopped making his cute little noises and wanting to be next to me. Thanks 'Andies mom' I never thought of it like that - who knows if he has even been clipped before! He has been gliding on accident trying to get to his cage and it just freaks him out I think because he doesn't know what happened to his flight license.

I feel so bad for clipping him now!

Yes, don't feel bad about clipping him. They will grow back. Just be patient, he'll come around before you know it.
BeeLovee
I knew they will grow back.

Thank you smile.gif

I can't wait until he comes back around!
