Full Version: Pinching

Petrie just started doing this yesterday, but it's really painful. When ever we pick her up, hold her or spend anytime with her she pinches our skin with her beak. Not biting, but an actualy pinching us. Earlier she did it so hard she left a bruise on my finger (she went to birdie time out for that one).

It's not an option to never pick her up again, or spend time with her so what can I do to curb this? i've been telling her no bite as I place my finger on her beak so she can't open it for a few seconds, but it's NOT working, in fact I think it's just getting worse.

Is she trying to hold on? That is, does she act as if she needs something extra to balance herself with? They use their beaks as a third claw.

Is she acting like she feels romantic? When Clyde gets like that, he tends to grab a piece of me and hang on and even pinches and moves his head like he's trying to take a piece of me WITH him. Yowch.
