I'm so excited. my babie's new cage got delivered today (earlier than I thought) and I almost think it is too big for him haha, he doesn't know what to do with all of the space! it is 3 1/2 times bigger than his old cage.

I'm going to make him a BOING tonight to go in there because it looks so bare and empty - but atleast now I won't feel bad when he doesn't want to come out and play. I won't feel like he's being cooped up biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

There is a photo of the new cage outside while I was cleaning it and a picture of him munching on his bread crust inside his new home. When he got in it he made kissey noises for the first time in a few days haha.

Don`t worry its not too big and when you fill it up with a couple of different types of perches (natural wood, rope etc ) boing ,happy hut, toys it won`t look so bare ..
Your little guy will be really happy for all the space ..CONGRATZ...

Not to sound silly, but how do you make a boing? I've seen them in pictures of Majj's cage, and they look like fun!

I made mine out of sisal rope though because I couldn't find cotton.
I didn't make it very good so I'm going to be making another one with thicker rope smile.gif

awwwww
he will love his new cage
and i agree you cant go too big
oliver has a huge cage and tons of toys and perches filled
he doesnt use the bottom foot of the cage much but he does go down to the bottom to play with a bucket of toys every once in a while but other than that he uses all of the space he can lol
Sandi Kiwis Mom
that is a nice cage....fill it up with toys and perches and don't forget the food biggrin.gif you have been given good advice wub.gif

It is a huge cage! I don't think he knows what to do with all of the space.
He won't play with ANY toys, he just sits on his perch.
I don't get it haha, I have so many different types of toys but he won't even touch them!
Majj
How about a ty box in the bottom and put him down there he will then have to learn to climb up...

have you thought about a jolly ball in the top for him to snuggle in of a night..??

I just bought the same cage!! It is the HQ flight cage? I bought mine in grey. Gabby is not so sure about it yet either but she will settle in. I love how BIG it is!!

I don't feel so bad about her not getting out all day. She has tons of room for all of her toys and her jolly ball.

I still get her out a lot but for her safety she has to be in there when I am not watching her. I have 2 dogs, a cat., and a toddler!!

I went and bought him a happy hut today and he hates it.
He keeps trying to attack it haha.
I stuck him inside it and he tried killing it from the inside too!

He'll learn to like the happy hut. Clyde beats his up, too. laugh.gif But he also sleeps in it every night. It will take him a few days to get used to the bigger cage, but he will and then he'll be really glad to have it. Clyde hated his the first couple of days and kept trying to take his old cage back from the budgies. tongue.gif Now he likes his new one and has learned to get around in it with no problem.

hahaaa atleast I know he isn't the only one that will beat it up! I mean it got bad haha at once point he was HANGING on by his beak with his little feet danging and him flapping his wings.

Then he would do like this "beak tap" as I call it where he just bangs his beak on it and makes this noise like " huhuhuhu" it sounds like a panting dog. It's so weird.

That's so funny about Clyde trying to take his cage back smile.gif
I can picture a little green goblin trying to beat up on little budgies laugh.gif

Cute piccy ...he will be happy with his little bed especially as your nights get cooler... if you can run a perch under it so he can enter and exit from either side.. So cute...
GinnyJack
Majj! You have got to tell me how your bird room stays soooo clean. In all your pic everything looks so good. I am constantly cleaning and I even have clear shower curtains down to catch the flying poop. tongue.gif My birds still eat some seed so my floor needs to be swept a couple times a day. Are your birds strictly on pellets? I think you taught them to eat over their bowls and poop in the potty...Didn't you? laugh.gif
