First, a Pineapple Conure is a Green cheek conure but is a mutation of the green cheek so it is a color not a species...The species is a Green Cheek Conure. They have all the same characteristics of a Normal Green cheek. Some Green Cheeks are sweet and cuddly while others are nippy and noisey and the conure has a more high pitched squawk, they can be quite loud but not in the same way as say a cockatoo or amazon is. It's much higher pitched, and for me not as loud volume wise. They are quite acrobatic and very busy all the time.

Meyers are a little calmer bird but they too have a very high pitched squawk and to me they have more volume than a green cheek. Again, you get both sides of the coin with these birds as far as being cuddley some are, some aren't Meyers are originally from Africa.
Size wise they're slightly larger than a Green cheek less the tail maybe slightly bigger/heavier, they seem to have a more compact body they look sturdier than a Green cheek.

Having had the opportunity to care for both species I think I liked the green cheek over the meyers just personality wise. Though Meyers have a good ability to talk, Green cheeks aren't know for their talking abilities though some can talk pretty well. They both have tiny voices though.

Meyers are usually a little more expensive as well.

You guys are always the best source for all bird info. Thanks. I had learned that the pineapple conure was a relative of the green cheek, but did not know they acted very much alike. I heard they were quieter than suns, but I do like pretty colors, being my quaker is a plucker and not much pretty to look at.
I am considering getting another bird, and wanted to learn a lot about them so I could perhaps adopt a needy bird but it would have basic personality traits that would work for my situation.
Thanks so much!
I am hoping for a cuddly bird this time around!
