So... we just finished labotomizing the halloween pumpkins and I have half a collander of seeds. Do you toast these bad boys for your Fids or do I just clean and baggie??? (No salt, of course!)

I'd toast them. You don't have to do much. Spread them out on a cookie sheet and put them in the oven for a few minutes until they get a bit golden.

I cleaned a pumpkin a couple weeks ago to stuff and bake. I gave Marla some uncooked seeds and about died laughing as she tried to hang on to the slick and slimy seeds (rinsed.) They kept popping out of her toes. It was hilarious! I ended up toasting them and both birds love them and they are much easier to hold on to; though not near as comical to watch while eaten!

For the sake of bonding and not getting caught laughing at her until she's settled in, I've elected to toast. Though once things have worked into a good routine I might try the raw pumpkin seeds with the camcorder out... Thank you everyone!
