Cricket has never really bitten me even though he's almost 3 years old. He's always been such a sweet boy but I don't know what the heck is going on this past week with him!

Cricket has been SO crabby lately. He asks for a kiss and when I lean in --- he bites my lip. He asks to step-up and I reach out my hand --- he bites my fingers. I make him step-up anyway because I don't want him to think he can get away with that but he bites at my fingers the whole time and I move my hand so he has to let go but then he screams. It's like a viscious circle.

I tell him "there is NO biting in this house" and put him back on his cage but then he starts asking "Am I a good boy?" "Pretty-pretty bird?"

I know they go thru crabbiness in the spring with the hormones but does something happen in the fall too? I know the whole flock ask to go to bed earlier since its been getting darker earlier but its still over 2 hours until his bedtime.

I thought maybe he could be molting because Gator and Sky are but he doesn't have any pin feathers.

*sigh* What am I doing wrong?

They all at one time or another must test their boundaries like the little feathered 3 yr old toddlers they are. tongue.gif
