Henry has gotten so tame that he walks up my arm now and nuzzles me in the face, and tonight he quite clearly wanted to come out of his tank. I'm afraid he'd get away from me if I just tried to play with him, so I was going to put him in the bathtub to play with him, but Hubby said that would freak him out. I got out the hamster cage that isn't suitable for him to live in, but that we fixed up with tunnels and things for him to use as a playhouse, and I put him in there. Then I gave his tank a good cleaning while Hubby mouse-sat. laugh.gif

We fixed up that hamster cage, but he's never used it before, except the first day, because I couldn't get him out of his tank and back out of the hamster cage to put him back in his tank until he got tame enough to let me pick him up. That first day I had to catch him in a toilet paper tube and transport him that way and we had a terrible time getting him back into his tank because we couldn't corner him and herd him back into the tube to move him back. Now I can just offer my hand and he hops right in and I can just pick him up and take him wherever I want him to go. The poor little cuss has had to spend all his time in his tank until now. I'm not sure he's very fond of the hamster cage, though he seems to like the big plastic wheel in it, but it's a change of scenery for him and gives me a place to stash him so I can give his tank a good cleaning instead of having to try to clean it with him still in it.

I'm just so happy he's gotten so comfortable with me that I can pick him up now, and he even asks to be picked up! biggrin.gif

How sweet! It sounds like you've been doing a really good job taming the little guy. After reading all you said about Henry I went to Bryan with that glint in my eye and asked him about a mouse and he said NO. WE HAVE ENOUGH! So I guess I'll hold off on any other pets for a while. But post more pictures so I can live vicariously through your mousy adventures!
