Hi I just need to know can quakers have either Raw or cooked broccolli? If so is cooked best?

They can have both, but be sure you wash it good. Both my fids prefer it cooked. I boil the broccoli and then add the water to the birdie bread because a lot of nutients escape into the water when you boil. IMO I think you would be more likely to get your fid to eat it cooked.

Thanks for the reply, that`s great to hear, I think I might steam it as it won`t lose the nutrients that way.

Thanks again.

My guys eat it raw, cuz I can't stand the smell of cooked broccoli so I'm a mean mommy and make them eat it raw! Or I sometimes microwave it for a 15 or 20 seconds...

Casey actually much prefers it raw biggrin.gif I just wash up a big floret and leave it on the top of the cage between the bars while she's out during the day and she'll eat off the top of the floret smile.gif I think they like it so much because it looks different, the floret has so many little leafy bits that she loves to pick it apart, lol and it's very healthy for them, full of calcium! biggrin.gif

Mine prefer it raw.
