ok, I have a couple questions relating the "evil green chickens"(sorry, my dad read that in a Bird Talk)
1. On average, if there is one, how long does it take for a qp to get used to new people? As I mentioned in my intro, we have had Joey since September 12, 2007, so well over 2 years. I started dating my boyfriend September 2nd of last year, and Joey still really doesnt like going by Jake unless a)I'm not around, or b)he sees me on the other side of Jake, so goes on his arm in hopes that he can get to me.
and
2. This one kinda confuses me a bit. When Joey is on my arm/leg/shoulder, he likes to lunge/bite at anyone and EVERYone who comes by me, like a little feathery attack bird. But Joey's thing is, if he lunges at someone and can't bite them, he bites me! I say Joey! Don't Bite! and he grumbles and squeaks an apology which, me being the softy that I am to my sweet little green boyfriend, accept and forgive. Does anyone else's qp do that?

They're also called "little feathered dragons" if that helps!
Yes... being jealous of the boyfriend and anyone else, for that matter, is VERY common in a parrot that has bonded to you. The biting you instead is called "displacement" biting. Basically the theory is, if he can't scare off the intruder he'll chase you off to a safer distance until he can take care of business. Quakers are one of the few parrots that actually build huge nests in what looks alot like a condo complex... they set sentries and everything. Where most birds will back off from something that makes them nervous, a quaker will usually charge right at it and they think they're little feathery guard dogs. You'll find a lot of people on here also refer to it as LBS... or Little Bird Syndrome. *wicked grin*
Now, if I could only take Kiko jogging with me at night...

Joey sounds like a typical quaker to me. THey have their favorite person and it seems as though you are it. While they will tolerate some people they will despise others and when he lunges and bites you he's wanting you to move away from perceived danger. He's protecting you.

OMG! The picture that paints in my mind! That would be so funny to see him jump off you and chasing a mugger down a dark alley at night. Booking along on his Quaker legs!!

You forgot to add a soundtrack, Moonchild.... Add that offended quaker screech bouncing off the alley walls. It would sound like a whole FLOCK of avenging angels!
