It's really hard for me to part with Buddy, but I need to find him a new home. Buddy is a sweet green quaker and is around 3 years old. He says a few phrases like "step up", "take a bath", "want some food", "what a good boy", "thank you", and more. He loves to be involved in everything you do, especially mealtimes. The reason why I need to find him a new home is because he does not get along with my two roommates and often terrorizes them. Buddy bonds very closely and is very picky about who he likes. He is very good with me and always showers me with kisses.
Buddy does have his crazy moments when he makes quite a bit of noise, but he is generally pretty quiet throughout the day if you give him enough attention. He really loves getting his head and cheeks scratched and will purr like a cat when you pet him. I would love if he could go to an experienced home (preferably with a single person) where he will have the opportunity to fly around (he loves to fly to your shoulder for kisses) and spend time outside of his cage.
If you would like to give Buddy a loving forever home, please let me know. I am asking for an adoption fee which will include his cage, additional play perch, toys, and food. Also, you will need to pick him up from Lansing, MI.
Thanks.

What part of the country do you live?
Have you thought of just keeping his wings trimmed so he can't fly after your roommates? If that would solve the problem it would be worth the loss of full flight. Something to think about.
Good luck, I hope you find him just the right home.

I live in Michigan, in the upper MidWest part of the US.
I haven't thought about trimming his wings since the person I got him from specifically requested that he retains his ability to fly. I still would like to find him a good home though, since my roommates aren't happy with the bird around.

I'm sure that they had the best intentions requesting that he keep his full flights... however at this point he's YOUR bird. If you read up a bunch on a lot of the posts regarding aggression here in the forums, a lot of Quakers seem to develop attitude when they're fully flighted that they don't express when they have their wings clipped. While you're looking for another suitable home for him it wouldn't hurt to give it a try and see if it adjusts his attitude enough that you would get to keep him. =) Just make sure you get someone who knows what they're doing to do it and that you take a few minutes if you decide to and let him see that he's no longer flighted before he launches himself off the top of his cage. Very worst case scenario the flights molt back in a couple of months with no harm done.

How much is your adoption fee? I live near Grand Rapids so I am not too far from you

I suggest sending the member a PM just in case they aren't checking this thread on a regular basis.
