Quincy's Slave

Since Quincy is such an early bird when it comes to bedtime, I have no idea what time these little budgies should go to bed. They've been quiet for over an hour so I just went and shut their lite off. I left a night light with them in case they get scared.

It varies so much from bird to bird...when Sparkles was ready for bed, he'd start telling me night night...in the summer when the days were longer, he's usually wait till between 8:30 to 9:30 pm but as the days got shorter, he'd start in at 6:30 to 7:00 Since you're quite a bit farther north I imagine that your daylight hours are an hour shorter than here so I can see Quincy wanting to go to bed earlier.
Budgies I would think unless you have a light on them would be close to what Quincy does.

I don't give Pugsly a set bed time. It changes with the season. His bed time is sun down to sun rise. I just put the cover on shortly after it gets dark out. His cage faces a window so he doesn't need any cues from me!

We kept SMOOCHES up toooooooo late. A good song came on, we were singing , dancing, saying "let's dance". He said "We Go Beddie-Bye". They'll let you know when bed time is!!!

Clyde decreed bedtime is 10 p.m. so that's when all the birds go to bed, year round. When Jade first joined the family, she wanted to go to bed around 8 p.m. and now she NEVER wants to go to bed AND she's the first one up in the morning, squawking for somebody to uncover her cage. We just got home from playing a gig (at 2 a.m.), and we left lights off so the birds could go to sleep, and the budgies were wide awake. They don't know it's bedtime if nobody covers them up, apparently. Jade was quiet when we first got here but by the time we unloaded all the equipment, she was squawking and wanted to visit.

When I covered her up, she complained loudly.
Benjy chirps and chatters all day long, but even he gets quiet by around 10, so I think he's usually happy enough to go night-night when I tuck them all in.

Max and the Conures goes to bed between 7 and 7:30. I can almost set the clock by Max because she'll start to get more vocal and even say 'night night...is it night night?'.
Tiko gets to stay up later...usually 9, sometimes 10, as that's his time to 'rule the roost' so to speak...lol

Johnny and Cody are uncovered from the very dark sleep cages at 9 am and stay awake until 9 pm. I never hear them moving or making sounds in the mornings until they are uncovered. It seems to work. I am worried about the shorter daylight of winter too.

Toby is asking for bed "Toby take a nap, Toby go night, night; Time to go to bed; see you manana," at precisely 4:45. And I get him up at 6:35. I don't look forward to the change of time, but we always seem to manage. And, by the way, he sleeps w/o any disturbance all night long.

Casey`s in bed by 8:45-9pm, she`ll start saying Night Night Night! when she`s ready for bed, pretty demanding lol. The budgies on the other hand don`t really have a bed time.. they`re in the family room downstairs and we usually watch tv til 11pm-ish and they couldn`t care less, they`re pretty easy going, lol, so they get covered whenever the last person goes to bed
