Yesterday we took in a Quaker for a woman that could not keep him. Apparently she found him a week ago outside and the end of his beak looks as if it is pealing. Is that normal? I used to have a cockatiel and her beak was not like that. I was wondering if it was from the cage she kept him in?

Yes it is normal.

Pico's beak is alway's pealing. I thought he had sonething wrong with him when I first got him for the same reason. It's like a fingernail-they will peal sometimes.
