KeeWee loves to take baths, but I feel kind of weird showering with a bird! Maybe if he closed his eyes or looked the other way I be OK with it... JK... So who here showers with their bird? And if you do, do you feel even a little bit weird?

That is a good question...LOL.....I have never showered with Kiwi, but I do think I would feel a little strange doing it. Just my opinion. Now if I was going to let him shower alone, I wouldn't feel weird

Yoda is scared of the shower...
I don't think I would mind though. After all, he doesn't know what I am. I'm just a big, humany blob to him. One that caters to his every need.
But he'd rather scream at water than go in it.

Sammy doesn't like the shower. She prefers to take a bath in a water bowl even though I offer her a nice large bowl for bathing.

Of my 5 birds I have one that prefers to shower with me and that is my Moluccan cockatoo. He loves the shower! If he had his way we would never get out of the shower or at least not until there was nothing but cold water! I think he is part duck! lol
My Quaker is more of a bath bird. He has his own bath pan and likes to play in the water! He's still not comfortable in the bathroom shower. Shower curtain moves & scares him!
So far my other birds, sulfur-crested cockatoo, blue-throat macaw & red-front macaws aren't so crazy about showers including the "mist" showers! They will endure the mist shower but that's about it. Still working on getting them comfortable with a real shower.

We don't have a shower, just a bathtub. Mine have their own tubs and hate misting, so they wouldn't like the shower if we had one.

i occasionally shower with cricket. he likes the steam from the hot water. he sits on the towel rack while i go about my business.
yeah, it's a little weird because it's not like i shower with my cat but he seems to enjoy it and he's not the least bit judgemental. he still tells me he loves me even after seeing me naked lol

Casey comes in the shower every day

We have glass shower doors so she just perches up there, every once in a while she'll ask to go in the water, but she's more of a bath person

And nope, I don't feel weird showering with her, lol, although sometimes it's awkward when she does the wolf whistle, haha.

Morning conversation with parrot. He's on his shower perch while I shower. "Cute!" he states in his low, gravely, quaker voice. "No, you're cute." "You're so cute." "No, you're so cute." "Cute." No, you're cute." ....and on and on....
I love showering with my Chevy.

All my birds go in the shower with me. Not all at once well, not usually all at once cuz some of them are too big. But I'll take the little ones in at the same time and set them on the shower rod and take them off one at a time and let the water bounce off my shoulder on to them.
We have a good time because we laugh and sing songs and dance. The big birds go in one at a time and we also laugh and sing in the shower. On the days that I don't take them in the shower with me, you should hear them squawk while the showers going. They start attempting to sing or whistle the tunes that we sing in the shower.
My two younger cats like to crawl in between the shower curtain and the liner while the shower is going and stick their feet out from under the liner to get at the droplets of water. Its pretty hilarious to watch.
Oh the mention of the wolf whistle caused me to remember a cockatiel we had when Andie was a little girl...she would go in and take a bath or shower and even though it was just she and I in the house (besides two birds) she would come out of the bathroom with the towel wrapped around her and would want me to help her dry off. Well one time she came out and didn't have the towel wrapped around her like normal and the silly cockatiel let out the best wolf whistle and boy did Andie get embarrassed...she went running into her bedroom...LOL...Even though it was just me in the house. I still tease her about it...LOL.

Lulu -- who after just finding out from DNA testing should have been named Louie

-- loves to take showers with me.
She He hops up on the edge of the tub and I play the shower water back and forth over him while he makes these happy little quacking sounds -- and every once in a while a loud happy squawk. Neither one of us has ever felt the slightest bit weird about it.

What a cute little wet bird. Toby does not like the shower but he absolutely loves to take a bath -- he has been known to take two the same day. When he was little I was afraid to put him in the shower with me because I take mine with pretty warm water and I did not want to take a chance with harming him. But I was not willing to take a cold shower for him. The bath meets his needs quite well.

Horatio adores the shower, it is the best part of his weekend days. We have a large double shower in our bathroom and my wife and I shower together. He comes in on her to get wet first then I move him to his stick on shower perch where he runs back and forth in and out of the water. We have some days when he wants just a little water and some days when he gets completely drowned. Once the shower is over he wants to get blow dried with the hair dryer (on low and held quite a distance away from him). He really likes the warm air flow. In the winter when the house is dry he really enjoys sitting in the warm shower stall just getting moist.
Once the shower is over he settles down for rest of the day.

I used to shower with Pugsly occasionally at my old place, but the new place has the mini tile on the walls, so the suction cup on his shower perch won't stick

He seemed to enjoy just hanging out with me more than the shower itself.

Willow had his first shower this morning, but he didn't really seem to like it much. I hope he will get to like it and we can make it part of his morning routine. I have a "happy perch" that has suction cups that stick to the shower wall. I've used it for the budgies, but it worked well for Willow too.

Yup..both birds get in the shower when either me or my husband gets in. They love sitting on the shower perch cuddling or sometimes jumping down to our hands to get right in the water. Elliot does his best talking in the shower and spree instantly goes to sleep. Its not a good shower without them

The steam is really good for their lungs and nose. If hubby gets in at night once be birds are already in bed, elliot starts to growl in bed haha.
The first time I took the birds to the vet, she asked me if they were eating off my plate yet and me and Shane thought she was out of her ever loving mind. A bird eat off my plate? I don't think so...well needless to say, Everything I make is bird safe...just in case one of them is hungry because they always get food from us. Spree will even fly to Shane to eat right out of his cereal bowl (dont worry we dont share bites or saliva) lol
Let your birds in the shower..they will love it!

I showered with Verde a couple times but he just sat there all hunkered down so couldn't tell if he liked it or not. But he is so good about taking a bath everday in his lixit bowl that I saw no point to do it again lol.

Baby loves the shower. He mostly sit on the shower rail and jabbers a mile a min. His fav thing to do is to walk over and constantly say gimme kiss and of course I have to lol. My blue fronted Amazon joins right in.

Both my girls love to take showers with me. They just both sit on their shower perch and enjoy themselves. Don't worry about what they think of you. They are "naked" all the time LOL. I really doubt that the girls care weather or not I have clothes on

I shower with both Marla and Sunny (not at the same time, they don't want to see each other naked!) They both love it and so do I. I started very early in my relationship with both birds and think it helped with bonding.

With Kiko growing in all of those pin feathers, I take her in and stand her on hanging rod above my head (the people who had the place before be put in two rods... one for the curtain, one right in the middle of the tub for hanging clothes to dray). I wrapped a chunck of vet wrap around it so that it wasn't slippery. I can't say Kiko "likes" it... but she'd rather be in the same room with me given the chance and the humidity is very very good for her. I've tried bringing her into the spray a few times (deflected, of course!) and while she doesn't freak out, she doesn't look overly thrilled either. Mind you, that's her usual response when it comes to water at this point. Not a fan in general. =)
