I was wondering what is better long term for Quakers? The regular Roudybush or the low fat? I was wondering if it could head off problems by feeding the low fat long term, or if it would hurt them by denying them needed fat in their diet?

Tough question. I'm assuming that you would want to feed the low fat Roudybush to hopefully ward off fatty liver disease. While its possible, I would imagine that it would once again depend on the individual bird. I don't see why you couldn't keep them on the low fat indefinitely as long as they maintain a good weight. You might want to write Roudybush and ask them that very question...and talk to your vet about it.
You might also contact Dr. Fisk as the WSU (Washington State University) in Pullman WA veterinary clinic and get her opinion. She's pretty well known in the Avian aspect there. Though I don't know how well versed she is on different foods (pellets). I do know that most of the vets in our area aren't that well versed on Avian nutrition.

I would be interested in hearing what you find out. I assumed I wouldn't have to worry about fatty liver disease as long as Sweet Pea's yearly labs are in normal range.
