Has anyone on the forum tried TOP Organic Bird Pellets from Totally Organics? I bought a 1 lb bag at my favorite parrot store yesterday just to see how my guys would take to them. OMG - Sweet Pea became a little piggy! The first day he seemed to like them OK... I feed Sweet Pea and my greencheek Harrisons pellets plus some fruit flavored pellets from Zupreme, so I mixed them in. Today (day 2) Sweet Pea had his usual bean mash at dinner and then started in on the TOP pellets and wouldn't stop. He's crazy about them. My greencheek, who likes them too and tries to emulate Sweet Pea in most things, started munching them up in order to keep up with Sweet Pea. I've never seen them like a pellet so much.

The pellets actually smell very fresh and green, the ingredients sound great, and their website is very good: totallyorganics.com
There are a lot of testimonials from bird owners on the site, but I thought I'd ask here if anyone has been using these. I generally have pellets out all day for my guys, and their gobbling may be temporary, but at this rate of eating I may have to think about restricting access. Let me know. Maybe it's too much of a good thing....

I bought some of that a few months ago and Kiwi (quaker)and Gidget (green cheek) love, love it. I do have to limit them on it because they are also pigs....LOL

It sounds like a good product...though its kind of pricey...I can get what I use in a 20 lb bag for what they charge for a 10 lb bag.

I'd be curious to know how well the pellets hold together. Do they break up and crumble easily? I guess though if they did you could always use it in Birdie Bread.

I'm wondering if they offer to send Samples.

The pellets are quite firm and hold together well though they aren't as tough as Zupreem to break, or Harrison's. They don't appear as processed as the others. I would not say they are moist, but they are definitely not as dry as most. They smell good enough to eat - they remind me of the big alfalfa pellets I fed my horses.
