Our Qp does this cute little stretching thing where he'll lift one foot up and stick it behind him and then STREEEETCH his wing on that side out. Looks a lot like a ballet move. I was wondering if our little angel is just wonderfully unique or if anyone else has seen this. smile.gif He's still wonderfully unique to us even if every Quaker in the world does this!

Mine does it too and yes it's adorable wub.gif wub.gif. My budgies are super stretchers and do it all the time.

I haven't seen my Quaker do it yet (after three days) but all of my budgies do it. I think it is very cute and graceful.

Our Chula Verde displays this little ballet every night when she starts yawning to let us know that she is ready to go nite-nite.

Isis and the rest of the fids do it too ... biggrin.gif

Yup, both of mine, and both budgies, do it, too. They stretch one leg and wing, then the other leg and wing, and then raise both wings up behind them. I've even seen them yawn! laugh.gif They do it in the morning when they get up and at night when they're ready for bed. Both times are usually accompanied by a nice big poop, too. tongue.gif
Andie's Mom
Yup, mine all do it too.

Well, I guess it's good to know that it's normal. It's so sweet to see. He really puts on a show with it. We give him attention when it happens so I think he's figured out now that when he stretches we go over to watch and usually wind up giving him scritches or a nutriberry while we're there. If not both. We've got a playtop opening cage and he spends a lot of time up there, so he looks like he's on a pedestal posing for an art class!
