Full Version: Khego Won't Sit With Me

From what I have read, most peoples Quakers are happy to sit with them as often as they can. Khego has been home for 4 weeks now and is almost 5 months old. His cage is next to my computer and I like to put him on my shoulder when I am online but he always flies back to his cage. I would think that he didnt like me, but when I leave the room he screams for me from his cage. When I take him away from his cage he is very content to climb around on me and chirp happily while curiously investigating the environment. Only twice since he has been home he has actually flown over to sit on my shoulder, but both times he sat for a few seconds then went right back to his cage.
Does anyone elses Quarker do this? Or know why he prefers his cage?

Chula can't fly, but anytime she is within reasonable distance of her cage, she starts acting like she wants to jump back onto it. I think it is a territory thing. Doesn't mean they don't love you or want to be with you, but there is a internal drive that makes them want to protect their territory. JMHO.
