So, let me start by saying I know it's my own fault! I love PB&J sandwiches. They're sort of a vise of mine. I have one at least every couple of days. And I LOAD them down with both peanut butter and jelly. So the jelly always leaks out onto my plate while I eat it. Then I smear it up to get it on the toast. So I'm left with a small plate thinly coated with jelly. Well, the cats always sniff around it and decide it doesn't smell good enough for them to eat. That's the big difference between them and dogs. The dogs wouldn't bother smelling, eat first ask questions later.
Anyhow, today my boy cat, Beau, decided he wanted to put his two front paws IN the plate. Creating Mr. Sticky Paws. The bad part is I had to grab him and wipe his paws off, and for any of you that have cats, you know this wasn't fun. He acted like I was killing him, his sister woke up to see if she needed to spring into action on his behalf, and I had to seem like the bad guy. Belle decided it wasn't worth it and settled back into her chair. Beau pouted for twenty minutes after, and I took my dirty plate to the dish washer. Paw prints and all.
And although I was a bit annoyed, it was still rather cute seeing him all confused as to why his little paw didn't want to come off of the plate as easily as they had gone on. Just wanted to share this story with other animal people. My grandmother would have had a stroke of a cat had been in the house, much less around the dishes.
