I'm not particular about faith, when it comes down to faith... We just need a little help for the 4 year old I babysit.
Riley has been feeling "yucky" for a couple of days now with a mild fever and he just woke up from an independantly requested nap with an 80-year-old smoker cough and a fever of 104.7 degrees. His Mom is taking him straight to the Emergancy as we speak. I'd called to check up on how he was feeling because she didn't work last week with the whole "fever running rampant" and H1N1 scare and I happened to catch her as she was checking his temperature. I'm keeping her stable so she can drive safely but it's hard not to panic just a little. I'll keep everyone up on what's happening as I get more information.
Heck, even if you don't believe in any kind of a God, please cross your fingers or something. Anything helps.

Just got a quick text - they're taking x-rays of his chest to try to see what's causing that nasty cough and waiting for them to process. The one nurse apparently told his mother that it sounds more like a croup cough which is still not a lot of fun but an easy fix, so to speak. It's one steroid treatment to open everything up so he can breath properly. He's still running the fever, hower. Hopefully I'll know more in a couple of hours.

Just got another text from Riley's Mom... it takes three days to verify, but they've pretty much determined that he's got a moderate case of H1N1 and he's being treated for it. They had to sedate the poor little monkey to get an IV in - he wasn't willing to sit still and with the fever he was dehydrated enough that it was difficult WITH his cooperation. They're waiting for another battery of tests to see how he's handling the fluids and such.
Now we get to watch my 2 year old for symptoms - they watched her on Monday for me while I was at my BJJ class. So far, so good.

Riley was allowed to go home at 2am. She's got to bring him back today after he wakes up so that they can do an assesment and see how he's settling but apparently this is one of the few cases where taking him immediately to the hospital might have been a good thing. The fluids did wonders for getting the fever under control and they've got him pumped full of helpful stuff so now he's just sick and not REALLY sick.
Meanwhile, my midget somehow talked her way into the bed last night and is sprawled quite happily over most of my side of the bed. How do they take up so much SPACE?!? She weighs a whopping 26lbs!

I'm glad to hear that Riley is on the mend. I hope your little one won't show any symptoms.....*hugs*
