Frosty had been looking quite frail for the past few months we put it down to being almost 18years old ..Last night while brushing him I felt a big lump under his jaw , I thought it a cyst , thismorning it was weeping and had a dreadful smell I bundled him off to the vet (not the bird vet) , it was Bone cancer ..in his Jaw ...the treatment for a young fit cat would be removal of the jaw ...but in a frail old boy like Frosty that would have been cruel, so he is now with Fluffy his long ago friend and Misty our Border Collie he out lived them both , we got them the same time we moved into this house and they grew up with the kids ..another end of a chapter in my life..

I am so sorry for your lost.

I think our pets become our angels. I could swear at times I see My dog-Reno that passed last year. My four year old tells me he sometimes see him too(I never tell anyone that I see him). Well if not angels they do come to visit.

Majj, I'm so sorry! I know you're glad you had him with you for so many good years. And you're right, he's no doubt playing with his buddies right now and enjoying being spry again!

I'm so sorry for your loss - I have an old cat too who is very sick. I check on his every hour to make sure he is still breathing. It breaks your heart.

Majj I'm so sorry. Having to make the decision you made is always so hard but to have to decide quickly is so much worse.

Sorry Majj. 18 is a good long life for a kittie. My Spooky is 13 now, getting up there, Frosty gives me hope for a few more years. 2 years ago I lost Snurfl to kidney disease she was way too young to go. I cried like a baby.
