flew out the door and left my home forever. He was not even a year old yet,
just hatched last January, 2004. I brought him home as a tiny little hatchling,
just got his eyes opened, no feathers and a few quills poking out. This is what he
looked like, a week or two after I brought him home:

We didn't know if he was a boy or girl, and I was just sure that this sweet little
thing was a girl, and started calling her Baby Peeps. Six weeks later, we discovered
she was really a boy, and Squeaky was officially named.
I could hardly wait to see what he would look like, snapping pictures every other
day, watching the little pin feathers open up and showing the beautiful colors within.

He did not have his wings trimmed, and would fly up to the shoulders of anyone walking
into the kitchen. Not the least bit predjudiced, he loved everyone.
Then, he would snuggle down into the back of your collar, like a warm place to nest.

He had a great appetite, and would try everything you sat before him.
