WELL COOKED BEEF WELL COOKED CHICKEN TUNA PACKED IN WATER LOW FAT CHEESE LIKE MOZZARELLA, COTTAGE CHEESE, ETC. BEANS HARD BOILED EGGS SCRAMBLED EGGS COOKED WELL DAIRY MOST HEALTHY DAIRY FOODS HAVE BEEN MENTIONED UNDER THE PROTEIN CATEGORY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF: LOW FAT YOGURT!!! Generally, anything that is healthy for you is probably healthy for your Quaker, with the exception of these toxic foods and substances... avocadoes, chocolate, apple seeds, fruit pits, alcohol, caffeine, tobacco, and nicotine. There are many different varieties of birdie treats available on the market. Nutriberries makes a Cockatiel nugget that seems to be a favorite among Quakers. Millet is also an excellent treat for your Quaker, but millet is a high fat seed and should not be given routinely. Also, please purchase millet that you can examine visually for quality. Pre-boxed millet is generally so old it has no nutritional value left whatsoever. Millet should be a golden color and somewhat soft, not dark brown and brittle. |
